Akakichi no Eleven Redraws (Big Chin Hand on Shoulder)
Where it came from
Pulled from episode 43 of Akakichi no Eleven, a soccer anime from the 1970s, the frame shows a guy with a famously enormous chin (one Kojuro Yamagata) putting a reassuring hand on a teammate's shoulder. It floated around French Twitter as a reaction image through late 2023 until @FullSaphir finally tracked down where it came from in January 2024.
It's just one dude with a chin you could land a plane on, smiling and resting his hand on another guy's shoulder like he's about to tell him everything's going to be okay. That's the whole thing. No words needed, which is exactly why it works as a reaction image for any "hey, it happens to the best of us" moment.
The second the anime source got identified, the internet did what the internet does and turned it into a redraw template. People started swapping the two characters for literally anyone — Goku and Vegeta, Naruto cast, Attack on Titan, your favorite blorbo comforting your other favorite blorbo. The pose is so universally readable that it survives being redrawn by someone who clearly traced it at 2am.
Use it when you want to say "I understand, brother" without typing a single character. Bonus points if you keep the chin.
