Alex Jones' "I'll Eat Your Ass" Rant
Where it came from
On a May 1, 2020 InfoWars broadcast, Alex Jones explained that if a food shortage hit, he would eat his neighbors before letting his kids starve. Twitter user @mooncult clipped it the same day and it passed 3 million views in under 24 hours.
Alex Jones sits at the InfoWars desk in a suit, a glowing world map behind him, jabbing one finger at the camera like he's about to reveal the truth about fluoride. Instead he walks you through his apocalypse meal plan. If society collapses and his children are hungry, he's eating you. Then he says it the way he actually says it: "I'll eat your ass." Several times. With conviction.
He meant cannibalism. The internet did not care what he meant. Within hours the clip had jazz remixes, a Gregory Brothers song, and a hashtag, #AlexJonesEatsAss, that people across the political spectrum were happy to share, which in May 2020 was a genuinely rare event.
These days it shows up as a punchline reply whenever someone makes an oddly aggressive promise, or whenever Alex Jones is back in the news for some other reason. The phrase did the heavy lifting and the context fell off a long time ago.
