American Chopper Argument

Where it came from
Five screenshots from a 2009 episode of the reality TV show American Chopper, where a father and son get into an escalating screaming argument. Became a meme in 2018 as the "full five-panel Twitter argument" format.
Five panels of two men yelling at each other in a motorcycle shop. The argument escalates panel by panel — first reasonable, then louder, then completely unhinged, then someone is standing up and pointing, then one of them has thrown a chair. You label each panel with a back-and-forth on any topic, and the argument structure matches the emotional arc perfectly.
It's the definitive "long argument" format. Five panels is enough for an actual exchange with an arc — an opening position, a rebuttal, a pivot, an accusation, a meltdown. No other meme template gives you that much room to stage a proper fight.
Still used, especially for nuanced or ironic takes where the poster is arguing with themselves. Long-form comedy in meme shape.
