Forever Alone

Where it came from
A rage comic face that spread around 2010 out of FunnyJunk and 4chan, where the rage-comic format lived. No single author — it got drawn, redrawn, and traced into oblivion like every other rage face.
A crude MS Paint face, all bulging eyes and a wide pained grimace, crying while it forces a smile. It's the rage-comic stand-in for loneliness, rejection, and quiet self-pity. You drop it as the punchline panel of a comic about getting left out, eating lunch by yourself, or texting someone who never texts back. The face does the whole job: it's trying to look okay and visibly failing.
For a couple of years this was everywhere. Rage comics ran the front page of Reddit and 9GAG circa 2010-2012, and Forever Alone was one of the core faces alongside Trollface and "Me Gusta". "Forever alone" stopped being just the macro and became actual slang — people typed it on Valentine's Day, under photos of one chicken nugget, anywhere the bit was being single and sad about it.
It died with the format. When rage comics collapsed into a cringe punchline around 2013, Forever Alone went down with the ship. Nobody posts it sincerely now — if you see the face at all, it's someone joking about how old and embarrassing rage comics were. Pure nostalgia, no pulse.
