Get That Thing Out Of My Face! (Bird Cracker)
Where it came from
Started life as a wholesome four-panel called "Trying new food," posted by the webcomic Chicken Thoughts on September 23rd, 2019. A little blue bird screams at a cracker, tries the cracker, and immediately becomes a cracker person.
The whole joke is the turnaround. Panel one, the bird is furious that a cracker exists near its face. Panel four, the bird has tasted the cracker and its entire worldview has been rebuilt around it. No middle ground, no admitting it was wrong, just instant total conversion.
Reddit found it in October 2019 and did the obvious thing: slapped labels on it. Bird is you, cracker is the show your friend won't shut up about. Bird is a subreddit, cracker is whatever format it swore it hated last week. It ran through r/HistoryMemes, r/bonehealingjuice, and every other labeling-shaped corner of the site within about two days.
It survives because everyone has been the bird. You screamed about the new thing, you tried the new thing, the new thing is now your personality and you'd rather not discuss the screaming part.
