Gus Fring We Are Not The Same

Where it came from
A still of Gus Fring from Breaking Bad, standing perfectly composed. Paired with the caption "we are not the same" in 2021, it became a "I am better than you" flex format.
Gus Fring stands immaculate in a suit, face expressionless, the picture of quiet menace. The caption is always "[you do something basic]. [I do the same thing in an unnecessarily elaborate way]. We are not the same." The joke is ironic self-aggrandizement over a completely trivial difference. "You drink coffee. I brew a single pour-over while listening to Debussy. We are not the same."
It's a flex format where the flex is obviously absurd. The joke is in how seriously the poster is pretending to take whatever pointless distinction they're making, and Gus's unreadable face amplifies the self-seriousness into comedy.
Still in heavy use. One of the best "ironic superiority" templates to come out of the 2020s.
