Hamster Driving a Car

Where it came from
A photo of a hamster behind a tiny toy steering wheel got picked up around 2022-2023 and spread on TikTok and Imgflip as a reaction image, usually captioned with somebody barreling through a situation way too fast and way too confident for how unqualified they are.
Tiny hamster. Tiny steering wheel. Absolutely going 90 in a 30. The whole appeal is the gap between how seriously the hamster is taking the road and how doomed the situation obviously is.
It's the perfect reaction for any moment of "I have no business doing this but I'm doing it anyway." Sent your boss an email at 3am? Hamster driving. Replying to your ex after seven beers? Hamster driving. Pushing to main on a Friday? You already know.
It scratches the same itch the old "I have no idea what I'm doing" dog did, but updated for an era where the joke is less about confusion and more about reckless committed energy. The hamster knows what it's doing. That's what's scary.
