John Rod
Where it came from
Showed up in chapter 38 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 9: The JOJOLands on July 17th, 2026 — an unnamed Stand drawn as two glowing rods bent into a stick figure. Araki never named it, so the internet did it for him within about a day.
Araki drew a guy out of two hot glowing sticks, gave him no name, no backstory, and no dialogue, and the internet immediately decided he was the strongest character in fiction. That's the whole meme. The name follows the same joke as John Halo and John Darksoul: if a character doesn't have a name, his name is John.
Almost every John Rod post is powerscaling. He solos your favorite series. He solos every series. People draw their original characters getting cleanly bisected by him and caption it "the strongest." One of those posts pulled six figures of likes in a single day, which is roughly how long it took for the joke to go from nothing to inescapable.
The reason it works is that he's a stick figure. There's nothing to argue about — no established feats, no power level, no lore to contradict you. He's two lines. You can claim anything you want about two lines and nobody can prove you wrong.
