Left Exit 12 Off Ramp

Where it came from
A dash cam still of a car making a sharp, last-second turn onto a highway exit ramp, nearly missing the barrier. Became a meme in 2017 as the ultimate visualization of "suddenly changing direction".
A car is driving straight down the highway, then swerves hard at the last possible second to take an exit. You label the straight road with the path you were on, the exit with the weird thing you pivoted to, and the car is you, making terrible last-second life decisions. "Planning to go to bed early" vs "Watching six more episodes instead". The car always picks the exit.
The format is basically a more dramatic Two Buttons — less about agonizing over a choice, more about the actual moment of swerving. And the dash cam aesthetic makes it feel like a real documented disaster in progress.
Still in active rotation. The structure is so flexible that it works for anything with a "supposed to / actually did" shape.
