One Does Not Simply / Boromir

Where it came from
From Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), this scene became a meme around 2010-2011 when people started captioning Aragorn's reaction with 'One does not simply [do something]'.
The meme features Boromir (Aragorn in the actual scene, but the Boromir variant became more popular) with that iconic hand gesture and slightly smug expression, used to point out when something is way harder than people think it is or when someone's oversimplifying a difficult task. The format is basically 'One does not simply [X]' to mock unrealistic expectations or to humorously state a harsh truth. It's been used for everything from 'One does not simply walk into Mordor' (the original) to jokes about everyday struggles like 'One does not simply wake up early' or 'One does not simply understand the plot of Inception'.
