This Is Fine

Where it came from
From a 2013 webcomic called "On Fire" by KC Green. A dog sits in a burning room, sips coffee, and calmly says "this is fine" as everything around him is destroyed.
A cartoon dog in a little hat sits at a table in a room that is obviously on fire. He is sipping coffee. His expression is placid. He says "this is fine". The fire keeps spreading. It is very much not fine.
This is the definitive "coping with disaster by pretending it's not happening" meme. You use it when something is clearly going wrong — your company, your country, your personal life, the actual climate — and everyone's response is to just keep going like normal. The more serious the thing being ignored, the better it lands.
KC Green, the original artist, has said he's a little tired of watching people use it for things he didn't mean. That hasn't slowed it down. It's become shorthand for an entire mood and it's going to outlive all of us.
