Wojak
Where it came from
A bald, soft-faced cartoon guy who first showed up around 2009 on Polish imageboards as "warmface," then got loose on Krautchan and 4chan in 2010 thanks to a poster literally named Wojak. He paired up fast with the line "I know that feel bro."
Wojak is the patron saint of feeling things you'd rather not feel. The original is just a bald dude with a faintly heartbroken expression, deployed whenever someone wants to broadcast quiet emotional damage without saying it out loud. That feel when no gf. That feel when you reread the message. He gets it.
What makes Wojak immortal is that he's basically a blank emotional template. People have redrawn him into hundreds of versions — Doomer, NPC, the soyjak, the crying-but-smiling-behind-a-mask one, the brain-expansion guys. If you've ever seen a crudely drawn face perfectly capturing a very specific mood online, odds are it's a Wojak descendant.
The genius is in the cheapness. He looks like he took four seconds to draw, which is exactly why anyone can edit him to mean anything. That low barrier is what turned one sad Polish bald man into the most reused face on the internet.
