Where it came from
A 2002 scene from the film The Wash featuring a desperate-looking character asking for more of a substance. The exaggerated crackhead expression was turned into a meme around 2015 as the "craving" reaction.
A guy with blown-out eyes and a jittery grin leans forward, clearly asking for more of a thing he is deeply addicted to. The caption is always "Y'all got any more of that [wholly innocent item]?" — sleep, coffee, serotonin, functional wifi. The joke is that his intensity is exactly how you actually feel about these everyday things.
The expression is the meme. It's the face of someone who has been waiting too long for a mundane thing and is now emotionally falling apart over it. The desperation feels real no matter what caption you put on it.
Still used sometimes but starting to feel dated. It got heavy rotation in the late 2010s and has slowed down since.
